Popular Nigerian digital creator, English Alhaji, has raised alarm after allegedly receiving threatening calls from suspected bandits.

The social media personality disclosed this in a video shared on his Instagram page, where he claimed that unknown individuals contacted him through WhatsApp and threatened his life.

According to the content creator, the callers accused him of encouraging Nigerians to kill bandits instead of handing them over to security agencies.

English Alhaji said the incident happened after his recent comments about a bandit attack in Achepe community, Nasarawa State.

In the earlier video, he praised youths in the community for resisting the attackers but criticised them for handing over arrested suspects to security operatives.

Creator says bandits contacted him directly

In the trending Instagram video, English Alhaji said the callers displayed weapons and ammunition during the video call.

“Nigerians, yesterday bandits called me on a video call,” he said.

“They got my WhatsApp number from my Facebook page and showed me ammunition during the call.”

The digital creator added that the callers warned him against encouraging people to attack bandits whenever they are captured.

Fear over security situation

English Alhaji said the experience made him realise the level of danger surrounding discussions about insecurity in Nigeria.

He claimed the callers threatened to treat him the same way he allegedly advised others to treat bandits if he ever falls into their hands.

The creator also expressed concern about how easily the callers were able to contact him through social media.

The incident has generated reactions online, with many social media users expressing concern over the increasing insecurity in parts of the country.

Bandit attacks and kidnappings remain major security challenges across several northern states, including Nasarawa, Kaduna, Katsina, Zamfara, and Niger states.

Security agencies have continued operations against criminal groups, while residents in affected communities frequently raise concerns over safety and protection.
