Forbes: BUA’s Abdul Samad Rabiu Records Largest Wealth Growth in Africa

Nigerian industrialist Abdul Samad Rabiu has emerged as the biggest wealth gainer in Africa according to the 2026 Africa’s Richest People ranking released by Forbes.

The report shows that Rabiu’s net worth increased significantly over the last year, rising to approximately $11.2 billion.

The growth represents an estimated 120 percent increase, the highest among Africa’s billionaires in the latest ranking.

Ranking Among Africa’s Richest

Rabiu now ranks third among Africa’s richest individuals, moving up from the sixth position he held a year earlier.

At the top of the list remains Nigerian business magnate Aliko Dangote, followed by South African luxury group leader Johann Rupert.

Impact of BUA Cement Performance

The rise in Rabiu’s fortune is linked largely to the strong stock market performance of BUA Cement, which experienced major growth on the Nigerian Exchange.

Africa’s Billionaire Landscape

Forbes also reported that Africa’s billionaire class collectively increased their wealth, with 23 billionaires controlling about $126.7 billion in total assets.

Nigeria remains one of the continent’s strongest hubs of billionaire wealth, with four individuals featured in the ranking.
