Osimhen Returns to Nigeria After Fractured Arm
Nigerian superstar Victor Osimhen has returned to Nigeria following a fractured right forearm sustained in Galatasaray’s 4-0 UEFA Champions League defeat to Liverpool.
The injury occurred early in the match after a collision with Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konaté, but Osimhen played the first half before being substituted.
Recovery and Match Impact
Osimhen’s arm is currently in a cast, and he will decide on surgery once swelling decreases. If surgery is necessary, he could miss about 6 weeks, potentially missing Super Lig clashes against Trabzonspor, Kocaelispor, and Gençlerbirliği S.K., and may face a race to recover for the Fenerbahçe fixture on April 26.
National Team Absence
He was already excluded from Nigeria’s squad for friendlies against Iran and Jordan in Antalya, Turkey. His return to Nigeria was planned before the injury announcement.
Season Highlights
Despite injury setbacks, Osimhen has contributed directly to 26 goals this season—19 scored and 7 assists—highlighting his importance for club and country.
