JAMB Explains Delay in 2026 UTME Original Result Slips
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has explained why candidates are yet to access the printing portal for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination original result slips.
The examination body said candidates should remain patient as preparations are ongoing for the mop-up examination and the completion of other necessary processes before the slips are released.
JAMB Gives Reason for Delay
JAMB spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, disclosed this in a statement issued on Tuesday.
According to the board, the delay in releasing the JAMB 2026 UTME original result slips is linked to the conclusion of foreign examinations and preparations for candidates who missed the main examination through no fault of theirs.
The board stated that these pending processes must be completed before candidates can print their original result slips.
UTME Is a Ranking Examination
JAMB explained that the UTME is a ranking examination used for admission placement into tertiary institutions across Nigeria.
The board noted that the JAMB 2026 UTME original result slips contain candidates’ rankings. It added that all adjustments and examinations must be concluded before the final slips are made available.
Benjamin said the board would activate the printing portal once all pending processes had been completed.
Candidates Await Access to Result Slips
Many candidates have expressed concerns online over the delay in accessing the JAMB 2026 UTME original result slips.
Some candidates said they need the slips for post-UTME screening, admission processing, and change of course or institution applications.
JAMB, however, assured candidates that the portal would be activated shortly and that updates would be communicated officially.
JAMB Apologises to Candidates
The board apologised for the inconvenience caused by the delay and appealed for understanding from candidates and stakeholders.
JAMB also reminded candidates that SMS result checking remains available through registered phone numbers.
The development comes days after the board fixed 150 as the minimum cut-off mark for university admission for the 2026 academic session.
