Four Arraigned in Ibadan for Assaulting Neighbour, Police Officers
Four individuals have been brought before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan over an alleged assault involving their neighbour and two police officers.
The defendants, identified as Wahab Sikiru, Taiwo Sikiru, Taiwo Balikis, and Ifeoluwa Alabi, are facing charges linked to conspiracy, assault, and conduct likely to breach public peace.
Defendants Plead Not Guilty
At the court session, all four defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges filed against them.
The Ibadan assault case neighbour police proceedings began after the police formally presented the matter before the court on Tuesday.
Prosecution Outlines Allegations
The prosecutor, Cpl. David Adepoju, told the court that the incident occurred on April 27 at Ido area of Ibadan.
He alleged that the defendants attacked their neighbour, Mrs Aduragbemi Edujobi, following a disagreement.
According to the prosecution, the Ibadan assault case neighbour police incident involved physical assault and destruction of personal clothing.
Police Officers Also Allegedly Attacked
The prosecutor further told the court that two police officers were also assaulted during the incident.
The officers, identified as Insp. Mercy Sunday and PC Phebe Olatunde, were reportedly carrying out their lawful duties at the time.
He said the defendants allegedly beat the officers and damaged their uniforms and badges.

Charges Filed Under Oyo State Law
The offences were said to contravene sections 249(d), 351, and 516 of the Criminal Law of Oyo State, 2000.
These provisions cover assault, conspiracy, and actions capable of causing a breach of peace.

Court Grants Bail to Defendants
The presiding magistrate, Mrs Kausarat Ayofe, granted bail to each defendant in the sum of N500,000.
Each defendant is also required to provide two sureties in like sum.
