Trump Criticizes NATO Over Strait of Hormuz

President Donald Trump has strongly criticized NATO allies, calling them “cowards and paper tigers” for refusing to help reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran has been periodically blocking the strategic waterway amid the ongoing US-Israel-Iran tensions, causing oil prices to skyrocket.

On Truth Social, Trump wrote:

“Without the U.S.A., NATO IS A PAPER TIGER! … So easy for them to do, with so little risk. COWARDS, and we will REMEMBER!”

Trump emphasized that the US can handle the situation independently if NATO refuses to act.

Strategic Importance

The Strait of Hormuz is vital for global oil supply, carrying about a fifth of seaborne crude before the conflict. Trump insists NATO’s refusal to deploy naval forces has contributed to rising oil prices.
