ADC Faction Petition Raises Eyebrows

The latest ADC faction petition has put the African Democratic Congress in the spotlight.

Led by Nafiu Bala Gombe, the group filed a formal complaint with the US embassy in Abuja, accusing some party members of an unconstitutional takeover.

Alleged Hijack of Party Leadership

Gombe claims the takeover violates party rules and denies any connection with President Bola Tinubu or his political party.

He insists that, by law, he is the rightful leader following the resignation of former chairman Ralph Okey Nwosu and other members of the National Working Committee.

Calls for Sanctions

The ADC faction petition requests that the US take action, including visa restrictions for those allegedly involved in the hijack.

Gombe said this is necessary to protect democracy within the party and ensure constitutional procedures are followed.

Court Battles and Political Tensions

The faction has also approached Nigerian courts, but claims propaganda has been used against them.

They urge international oversight to safeguard internal democratic processes and transparency.
