The Nigerian Army denies armed robber claims linking a suspect arrested in Abia State to the military.

Authorities clarified that the individual, identified as Lance Corporal Chukwu Ebuka Peter in viral reports, is not a serving soldier.

In an official statement, the Nigerian Army dismissed the claims circulating on social media.

The suspect had allegedly presented himself as a soldier attached to the 14 Brigade in Ohafia, Abia State.

However, the Army said its internal checks found no record to support that claim.

According to the Army, the suspect is an impostor using a fake identity to commit crimes.

The statement, signed by Mazinho Attah, confirmed that no such personnel exists within the 14 Brigade.

It also noted that the unit mentioned by the suspect during questioning does not exist in the Army’s structure.

The Nigerian Army denies armed robber allegations and stressed that all personnel are properly registered and documented.

Officials explained that every soldier has a unique identification number, making impersonation easy to detect.

The Army also reaffirmed its commitment to discipline and professionalism.
